Why a violin?
Fr. Solanus Casey was a very simple but holy man. He was a simplex priest, which means due to academic challenges he was not allowed to preach or hear confessions, but served as the door man for his Capuchin monastery. He also loved to play the violin, despite the fact that he wasn’t very good at it. He had a high squeaky voice as well and one fellow monk remembers hearing squeaking in the chapel only to find Fr. Solanus singing and playing violin for the Christ child in the nativity.
