Why a Heart with Rays?

St. Faustina received the message and vision of The Divine Mercy in 1931. The Lord requested that she have an image painted and venerated, as well as a chaplet recited. The image was of Jesus in white, with His right hand raised in blessing, and two rays coming from His heart, one red and one pale. Under the image is usually written, “Jesus, I trust in You”.
