Why a scroll?

St. Basil was one of the great Cappodician Fathers in the 4th century who helped the Church to stay orthodox in the midst of heresies like Arianism. He founded an oratory, a school of law, was ordained a monk and bishop, and wrote a monastic rule. He was a great academic, orator, defender of the faith, and doctor of the Church.
