Why a crying eye?

Monica was the mother of St. Augustine, who spent his youth as a notorious sinner. She prayed (and weeped) unceasingly for his conversion, however, and was blessed to see his total conversion of heart that led him to become one of the world’s greatest saints. She is near to mothers and caretakers that suffer and mourn the wrongdoing of those they love but persevere through their tears in prayer.
